The Helderberg Conspiracy
Book Launch - 5th November 2016
On Saturday 5th November we held the launch for The Helderberg Conspiracy, Fact or Fiction? The event was well supported and the book was well received as were the theories that were put forward in opposition to the current train of thought as to what and how events occurred on board the Helderberg that tragic night of 28 November 1987.
Especially important to me of course was the support the book received from Technical and former air crews, all of whom knew the crew on board and the aircraft in question.
During a video interview after with the media I was asked what I wanted to achieve with this book. Well, besides what every author wants to achieve with his work, my answer was basically three fold. Despite what allegedly happened on other SAA flights, which I have been told were inaccurate anyway, I obviously believe there was nothing untoward going on on this flight.
For those who worked tirelessly on searching for, retrieving the wreckage, testing and investigating, a little overdue thanks would be nice for the tremendous job they did in the effort to determine the cause of the accident.
For the family's of those who perished, I want to give them an alternative point of view, a more logical one, to those that they have been given and passed off as the truth. Sometimes an accident is just an accident.
And lastly, redemption for a flight crew who have been accused of more than just poor judgement.
They all deserve more than that.

Making a point of note.

The chart on the wall in the background was used to describe how a 'first fire' would not have been possible
